Service Description
Course Information: Storyboarding Essentials Overview: Storyboarding is a crucial skill in effective communication, serving as the foundation for creative projects. This short course introduces fundamental skills, techniques, and concepts to bring stories to life and convey them clearly to a team, client, or director. Key Topics: • Course Introduction • Composition and Narrative • Storytelling Process • Cuts and Shots • Framing, Eye-line, and the Rule of Thirds • Character and Posing • The Moving Camera • Storyboarding Process • Thumbnailing • Final Boards • Putting Together an Animatic • Objectives and Structure: - 6 classes over 3 weeks, meeting twice a week for 2.5 hours each session. - Weekly homework assignments with in-class feedback. - Introduction of a final project in week two: a 30-second to one-minute animatic. - Final animatic presentations for class critique and feedback. Student Requirements: - Pencils - Black marker - Paper - Ruler - Laptop and a tablet is a plus. About Mazen: Mazen Attalla, a freelance artist and animator, graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in animation. Returning to Egypt, Mazen immersed himself in the vibrant animation industry, contributing to Samaka Studio in various roles, from concept art to final animation. His diverse experiences have equipped him with the skills to tackle artistic challenges. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Mazen has developed a passion for teaching, sharing his knowledge with aspiring students entering the dynamic animation field.
